Through Lotus Bleu, Jeannie is committed to giving back to the rich cultures from which she gets inspiration and to which she has made so many of her most memorable travels abroad. She feels so fortunate to have been connected to her beautiful son and daughter adopted from Vietnam and China. Lotus Bleu supports several orphanage programs in these countries including East Meets West, Bringing Hope to Children, and Grace and Hope for Children.
Jeannie especially respects the incredible work done by East Meets West, a local Bay Area organization that works actively in Vietnam and Southeast Asia (www.eastmeetswest.org). In the past, she sponsored a fundraiser at Lotus Bleu for East Meets West's Village of Hope, a center for disadvantaged and orphaned children in Vietnam, which gives many older and disabled orphans the support, education, and practical training they need. You can view a selection of the wonderful drawings made by these children and notecards from this event are still available at Lotus Bleu to benefit EMW.
